This book is a kind of creative report of the famous film director in front of the viewer and reader, the frank memories of a person who tried with his labor and talent to change the era (in some ways, he, of course, succeeded). The Hussar Ballad and Bare out the car, the Irony of Fate and the Office Roman, the Station for the Two and the Promised Heaven – these (and all the rest) films of Eldar Ryazanov became the classic of domestic cinema and an inalienable part of our lives. The individual chapters of the book are devoted to very recent works – “Key to the bedroom”, “Andersen. Life without love”, “Carnival Night -2”. The author admits that he wanted to become a writer in the eighth grade, and in order to better know life, as befits a real writer, he deliberately chose a difficult profession for himself. So the brilliant, albeit thorny, the path of Ryazanov-director can only be considered as a prelude to the dream of his childhood …
