The book of the American military historian Richard S. Lauri is devoted to the operation “The Storm in the Desert”, which the International Military Coalition brilliantly carried out against the troops of Saddam Hussein in January-February 1991. This conflict became the first large war of our time, and its planning and holding by the day is a kind of standard military operations of the era of professional Western armies and the latest military technologies. Based on numerous sources, including the stories of the participants in the events, the author vividly describes the fighting of the parties in detail, and he pays special attention to the ground phase of the war – the attack of coalition forces leading to the expulsion of the Iraqi invaders and defeat of the army of Saddam Hussein.
