The history of Europe in the first half of the 19th century was determined by two emperors – Napoleon Bonaparte and Alexander I. The beginning of the century is the rapid take -off of France under the leadership of a brilliant commander who conquered almost all of Europe, then the decades of peaceful life under the auspices of the Holy Union, the idea of ​​creating which completely belongs to Alexander.
The fates of the two emperors are inextricably linked, the history of their reign is inseparable. Of course, the scale of Napoleon’s personality is somewhat overshadowed by the image of the Russian emperor, but let’s not forget that Alexander was the winner in the confrontation. It was his ideas for the post -war structure and legal regulation of international relations that were adopted by Europe and to a certain extent formed the basis of its subsequent unification.
