This book offers a brief and affordable introduction to the continental philosophical tradition. Particular attention is paid to such key figures in continental philosophy as Nietzsche, Khabermas, Heidegger, Rusdt, Sartre, Foucault and Derrida, which are placed in the general context of the development of this tradition from education. Some chapters are devoted to the consideration of the nature of modernity, enlightenment and its continental critics, the ideas of the Marxism, the Frankfurt School and Habermas, hermeneutics and phenomenology, existentialism, structuralism, post -structuralism and postmodernism.
