Ivan Andreevich Krylov (1769 – 1844) – Russian fabulist, playwright, journalist, author of more than 200 fables. In fables, he ridiculed social and human vices. In order to achieve greater expressiveness, he expelled books and “poetic liberties” from his works, introduced more accurate, folk expressions instead.
