The book sets out a physical approach to the understanding of the environment, as well as problems related to its rational use. The author most detail the structure and dynamics of the atmosphere, the global climate, ultraviolet solar radiation and the problem of the ozone layer, as well as the impact of human activity on the environment. At the same time, special attention is paid to the production of energy, the use of transport and environmental protection. The book is based on lecture courses at the Universities of Great Britain.
The addition to the publication in Russian was created by Russian experts and contains a critical analysis of the hypotheses of anthropogenic effect on the climate and global warming.
The textbook is addressed to students and teachers of natural science and engineering faculties, as well as specialists whose interests are related to ecology and nature management.
