Pop: Alexander Segen

Here is the novel “Pop”, written in 2006 and first published at the same time in the journal “Our Contemporary”. The protagonist of the novel by Alexander Segenia is the priest Father Alexander. The action of the novel unfolds during the Great Patriotic War and occurs near Pskov, who at that time was under the rule of the Nazis. By the will of God, like many thousands of other Russian people in the occupation, O. Aleksandr is trying to act according to conscience – he saves many and many people not only in a word, but also by deed, helps the partisans and teaches all of true love and self -sacrifice. This book has already managed to fall in love with Russian readers, they even managed to make a wonderful film on it, where the talented Sergey Makovetsky played the main role.
