Poverty and poor in modern Russia: Gorshkov, Tikhonov, Anikin

The book was prepared based on the materials of the All-Russian Studies of the Institute of Sociology of the Russian Academy of Sciences, carried out in cooperation with the branch of the registered union “Friedrich Ebert Foundation” (Germany) in the Russian Federation in 2003-2013.
Based on a comparative analysis of sociological data, the attitude to poverty and poor layers of the population in Russian society over the past 10 years is revealed. Of particular interest to readers are the “Portraits” of Russian poor, highlighted on the basis of different theoretical approaches, the characteristic of their socio-demographic characteristics and place in the labor market, the processes of social mobility in their environment, the characteristics of the lifestyle and the moral and political views of the disadvantaged Russians, as well as the assessment of the specific features of Russian poverty amid poverty in other countries.
