Once upon a time in a distant northern country there was a girl who had no name. But on the other hand, she understood the language of animals and birds, and therefore it was to her, the daughter of the lumberjack, who once appeared a huge white bear and asked her to live with him for one year and one day in an enchanted ice castle, which was standing on an ice rock in the middle of an endless snowy plain. The girl agreed (although the older brother dissuaded her) and began to live in the luxurious chambers of the ice palace. But, as usually happens in fairy tales, she wanted to know what secret the master of the castle hides from her, the white bear, with whom she became very friends. And, as usually happens in fairy tales, with her curiosity, she brought terrible trouble to him.
