After October 1917, the leaders of the young Soviet state felt the most acute need to form certain moral guidelines among ordinary citizens. Human vices and bad habits, constantly manifested in everyday life, affecting the moral and social atmosphere in society and interfering with socialism, were recognized as “enemies of the cultural revolution” and declared outlawed. The chief weapon of the Bolshevik party in this uncompromising struggle was the poster. The end of the 1920s was a period of the most acute confrontation between the state task of fulfilling the first five-year plan (1929-1932) and the traditional “Russian trouble”-universal drunkenness, loacks, theft, lack of culture and sexual dissolving. Million illiterate masses involved in the construction of the five -year plan required not only training in working professions, but also moral re -education. Leading caricaturists and satirists (V. Denis, K. Rotov, M. Che-Ramy … took up these topics.
