About the church without prejudice. Conversations with a secular journalist: abbot, Balayan

The book, which formed from the conversations of the abbot of Nectaria (Morozova) with the Saratov journalist Elena Balayan, is a laid -back, sincere, at times a sharp conversation about the Orthodox faith and problems of church life – about eternal and modern. What myths and stereotypes are surrounded today and everything that happens in it? What does the life of a priest and just a believer “from the inside” look like? How to relate to those social processes and phenomena that a modern Christian cannot but notice? And what does it mean to be faithful to Christ these days? The desire to figure out what confuses, and sometimes repels from the Church “external” people – from the side of a secular journalist, openness for any, including painful, from the side of the priest – the characteristic features of this book. To become a mental participant in this dialogue – interlocutors of very different, but wanting to understand each other – and is offered to an indifferent reader.
