The modern reader, even the most cultural and manifesting a lively interest in Russian history, has about the personality of A.P. Bestuzheva -Ryumin is a rather vague performance – unless from the novels of V. Pikul and N. Sorokina, as well as according to the film series director S. Druzhinina, “Gardemarins, forward!” His name was almost completely and undeservedly forgotten – and not so much for some ideological reasons, but rather by historical negligence and underestimation of his personality. He seemed to dissolve and drowned in a historical stream dedicated to the descriptions of palace coups, the first Russian women-empires and their many favorites. However, in the 40-50s of the XVIII century, he was a key figure in Russian politics, and his name not only in Russia, but also in all European courtyards and capitals was pronounced with reverence and sedimentation, and where with fear and hatred. It was Molotov or Gromyko of the XVIII century.
