In the book “Higher Theater School (Institute) named after M. S. Shchepkina. Two centuries of stories in the documents” (Authority-components Vladimir Alexandrovich Kiprin, Natalya Evgenievna Korolkova, Svetlana Borisovna Frolova) for the first time, in chronological order, in the documents presented a two-hundred-year history of the Higher Theater School named after M.S. Shchepkina. The published materials are unique, many of them will first see the light. Documentary witnesses of the life of the oldest theater school in Moscow for two centuries – the charters of the theater school of different years, the memories of theatrical figures, writers, critics, graduates of the school and other materials – will introduce readers with the history of the famous “chips”. This publication will make it possible to get a wider idea of what the Moscow Theater School is, expressing the essence of Russian acting – warmth, cordiality, passion for romantic protest, the desire for natural sincerity and truth of life on the stage.
