Nickname “King Valsa”, Johann Strauss (1825-1899) was born in the musician’s family and from early childhood was immersed in the musical atmosphere of Vienna. His creative fertility (Strauss is the author of about five hundred works) and the ease with which he created his works, have no equal, and his waltz “on the beautiful blue Danube” became the unofficial anthem of Austria.
