The book is based on a collection of medals, signs, Olympic diplomas and symbols from several foreign and domestic collections. The selection presented in the book is the rarest not only in Russia, but also in the world, the collection of more than 200 award Olympic medals of all the degrees of dignity and memorable medals of all the Olympiads, starting from the first modern summer games in the 1896 Athens and the 1924 winter games in Shamoni. Each medal is given its detailed description, including the mass-gaparit characteristics and the metal from which they are made. Images of award medals are harmoniously complemented by the registered diplomas of the winners of the Olympic competitions.
