For the first time, all the main aspects of the British and American literary pronunciation in comparison with the Russian are systematically and in detail. An analysis of the pronunciation trends inherent in living conversational speech is also presented.
The aim of the course is the formation of normative pronunciation, British and/or American, and the development of the ability to properly use phonetic forms in the process of intercultural communication.
Each chapter contains a large number of examples, drawings and diagrams. At the end of the subsections, a detailed analysis of the most typical errors arise as a result of the influence of Russian pronunciation or interference of both options is carried out, and the methods of their correction are described.
Tasks, exercises and tests in the second part of the textbook are equipped with keys.
