Probably, there is no such person who would not hear about this wonderful corner of our Fatherland. The Valdai Upland, formed by the bizarre movement of the glacier and became the main watershed of the Russian plain, gives rise to the Volga, the Dnieper and the Western Dvina. On its vast territory, many beautiful lakes were spread out, attracting their purity and transparency of the waters. This wonderful corner of Russian nature gave life to the city of the same name, located almost in the middle of the Moscow-Petersburg highway. Its centuries -old history was determined by the briskness of the traveling life of both capitals and the stability of provincial traditions.
